Robotic Weld Cladding & Part Restoration

We restore worn shafts, rollers, bearing journals, fitting surfaces, housings and large industrial components using robotic weld cladding.
The department uses KUKA and FANUC industrial robotic systems, ESAB welding equipment, Fronius CMT technology and M11070 manipulators for rotating and positioning components during cladding.
After the required metal layer has been deposited, we perform machining to final dimensions and geometric inspection.

FROM LOCAL WEAR TO LARGE INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS

We Restore:
  • shafts and axles;
  • bearing journals;
  • fitting surfaces;
  • rollers;
  • spindles;
  • gearbox components;
  • housing components;
  • worn bores;
  • cylindrical surfaces;
  • ring-shaped surfaces;
  • components with complex geometry.

ROBOTIC CLADDING SYSTEMS — ESAB, KUKA, FANUC & FRONIUS CMT

  • ESAB Robotic Welding & Cladding System
    We use ESAB equipment with automated wire supply for robotic welding and restoration cladding.
    Stable torch movement helps maintain consistent process parameters along the entire working surface.
    Typical applications include:
    • shafts;
    • rollers;
    • housing components;
    • large surfaces;
    • repeatable operations;
    • long automated cycles.
    • The ESAB Marathon Pac system provides continuous welding-wire supply for extended automated operations.
  • KUKA / FANUC Robotic Systems
    Industrial robots are used to move the welding torch automatically along a programmed trajectory.
    Programming allows us to control:
    • cladding travel speed;
    • distance between passes;
    • torch position;
    • overlap between adjacent beads;
    • number of passes.
    We use robotic cladding for:
    • long surfaces;
    • shafts and rollers;
    • ring-shaped components;
    • complex spatial geometry;
    • multi-pass restoration.
  • Fronius CMT
    Cold Metal Transfer technology provides controlled transfer of filler metal with relatively low heat input.
    This is particularly important during restoration work, where excessive heating can cause distortion of the original component.
    Advantages include:
    • stable metal transfer;
    • low heat input;
    • reduced spatter;
    • uniform deposited layer;
    • reduced thermal distortion;
    • possibility of applying several consecutive layers.
  • M11070 Welding Manipulator
    The manipulator is used for rotating and positioning large components relative to the robotic welding torch.
    The faceplate provides workpiece rotation, while the tilting mechanism allows the surface to be positioned at a suitable technological angle.
    This makes it possible to process:
    • shafts;
    • rollers;
    • cylindrical surfaces;
    • ring-shaped components;
    • heavy rotational parts.
    Typical capabilities of the M11070 family include:
    360° faceplate rotation
    tilting up to 135°
    workpiece weight up to 3000 kg

COMPLETE RESTORATION CYCLE WITHIN ONE FACILITY

After cladding, we perform the required machining using our own equipment.
  • CNC Turning
    → shafts, axles, journals and fitting diameters
  • CNC Vertical Turning
    → large rings, discs and heavy rotational components
  • CNC Boring
    → housings, bearing seats and fitting bores
  • CNC Milling
    → planes, slots and complex geometry
  • CNC Grinding
    → final diameters, fitting surfaces and required surface quality
ROBOT + WORKPIECE POSITIONING
During operation, the robot moves the welding torch along the programmed trajectory while the M11070 manipulator or robotic positioning system rotates or positions the component.
This combination allows the required torch position relative to the surface to be maintained while depositing metal uniformly on large cylindrical or complex surfaces.
The main process parameters are defined according to the technological requirements:
travel speed
→ pass spacing
→ bead overlap
→ number of layers
→ machining allowance

TYPICAL RESTORATION ROUTE

  • Inspection & Defect Assessment
    We receive the component, drawing or 3D model and determine the type and extent of wear.
  • We Define the Manufacturing Route
    We determine which technological operations are required to restore the component to its working condition.
  • Surface Preparation
    We remove the damaged layer and prepare the base surface for cladding.
  • Robotic Weld Cladding
    We deposit the required amount of metal with sufficient allowance for subsequent machining.
  • Machining
    We restore the nominal dimensions and required geometry.
    If necessary, the process includes:
    • grinding;
    • finishing;
    • other final machining operations.
  • Inspection
    We verify the agreed geometric parameters of the finished component.
    Depending on the part, we inspect:
    • fitting dimensions;
    • diameters;
    • runout;
    • other critical parameters.
Need to Restore a Worn Component?
Send us photographs, drawings or the main dimensions of the part.
We will assess whether restoration is technically reasonable and develop the complete route:
inspection → preparation → robotic weld cladding → machining → final inspection
