COMPLETE GEAR MANUFACTURING CYCLE
From Raw Material to a Finished Gear Transmission
A typical manufacturing route may include:
1. Blank Preparation
Metal cutting, forging, casting or another type of initial blank.
2. Turning or Vertical Turning
Machining of: outside diameters;bores; faces; technological reference surfaces.
3. Milling / Boring
Machining of: keyways; holes; mounting surfaces; other structural features.
4. Gear Cutting
Depending on the design, we use:
Hamai • 53A50 • 5A342P • 5M161 • 525 • 528C or other specialised equipment
5. Heat Treatment
Induction hardening or furnace hardening.
6. Finish Machining
Final machining using:
WMW Niles ZSTZ 10H • KAPP RS203 • other grinding equipment
7. Inspection
Inspection of: geometry; fitting surfaces; coordinates; gear pair operation.
For bevel gears, the pair can also be tested on the 5A725, while dimensional and geometric inspection can be performed on the Sheffield Discovery D12.
8. Finished Part or Complete Gear Set
The result can be supplied as an individual finished component or a complete matched gear pair / transmission set.
